The Whistler Double Oaked is a small-batch, triple-distilled Irish blend of 80% grain whiskey and 20% single malt, made at Boann Distillery in County Meath and bottled at 40% ABV.
It is unpeated. The whiskey is matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for six months in oloroso sherry casks, which gives it the Double Oaked name.
The tasting notes give salted caramel, vanilla, light oak spice, citrus and a hint of nuts on the nose. The palate is honey, creamy vanilla, fudge, crisp apple and toasted oak, and the finish is medium to long, with oak tannin, honeyed sweetness and gentle spice.
