Grey Coast is a blended Irish whiskey from the family-owned Boann Distillery in Drogheda, County Louth. It was created with professional golfer Graeme McDowell, who is a partner in the brand, and takes its name from the grey coast of his hometown, Portrush. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The blend is 60% single grain from first-fill bourbon barrels, 25% single grain from virgin American oak, 10% single malt from virgin American oak and 5% single malt from Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose offers honeycomb, dried fruit and elderflower with hints of almond and vanilla. The palate is vanilla, honeycomb, golden syrup and sweet citrus with a slight herbal note, and the finish is warm and sweet.
