Boann Single Pot Still Madeira Casks is an Irish single pot still whiskey from the family-run Boann Distillery near Drogheda in the Boyne Valley. It is bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour.
The whiskey matured first in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then was finished in Madeira casks of several classic styles. The mash bill includes malted and unmalted barley, oats and rye, and the spirit is triple distilled.
The nose offers jasmine, white peach and yellow nectarine, with lemon blossom, light honey and vanilla. The palate brings juicy apricot, lemon, candied citrus peel and elderflower. The finish is long and fresh, with nectarine, citrus, fine wood and lasting floral notes.
