Bonnington Muscat Cask is a Lowland single malt from Bonnington Distillery in Leith, bottled by the distillery at 47% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
Its character comes from maturation in a Muscat wine cask. The distillery started production in Leith in March 2020, bringing single malt distilling back to the area after almost 100 years. Its squat stills were made by Speyside Copper Works.
Ripe plums and light stone fruit lead the nose, with a fine zesty lift. Juicy dates and creamy caramel meet a subtle savoury miso note on the palate. The long finish holds dark toffee, sweet honey and firm spicy oak.
