Borgo Scopeto 2022 Chianti Classico (13.5%)

A Chianti Classico made from Sangiovese (90%), Colorino and Merlot from different parcels on the estate at 360-450 metres above sea level. After ten days of alcoholic fermentation and spontaneous malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for twelve months in 30-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks, then for at least two months before shipping. It has a deep, brilliant red colour. The nose is rich and intense, with wild dark berries, hints of chocolate and a fine touch of vanilla from the oak. The palate is harmonious and elegant, with full body, fine fruit sweetness and soft tannin, leading to a long, persistent finish. It is a suitable accompaniment to most meat dishes, especially pasta or rice dishes and not too mature cheeses.
