A red Burgundy from Lupé-Cholet, founded in 1903 and now part of Albert Bichot. The wine is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Gamay. It spends ten months ageing, giving a deep and full flavour, with a long finish and good ageing potential.
On the nose it shows the dry, fruity style of Pinot Noir alongside softer, rounder fruit from Gamay, with notes of violets and berries. It is suited to lighter meat dishes and soft cheeses, and is best served at about 16 degrees in large glasses.
