Lupé-Cholet Bourgogne Blanc Réserve Inès 2020

A white Burgundy made entirely from Chardonnay, with grapes harvested in the Côtes de Beaune and Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Ten per cent of the grapes are fermented in new oak barrels, while the rest are fermented in stainless steel tanks; the two cuvées are then blended and aged for a further 13 to 16 months in oak barrels. The grapes are organically grown. The wine has a golden colour, an exotic nose with a peach-like note and well-judged vanilla from the oak ageing. The palate is almost buttery, with good richness and clean fruit reminiscent of Meursault. It suits shellfish dishes made with a strong stock, or dishes with fatty fish such as halibut, salmon or turbot.
