Essence of Islay is an 11 year old single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery sits directly on the edge of Loch Indaal, at the heart of Islay, and takes its name from the Gaelic for 'the great reef'. It dates from 1779, placing it among the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Suntory of Japan has owned it since 1994, and the water used comes from the River Laggan.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
