This is Bowmore 12 Year Old in a 1 litre bottle with a screen printed label, dating from the 1990s. It is bottled at 43% and has an amber colour.
The nose shows some bottle age, with very little smoke if any, and a coastal note. On the palate there is a fair amount of peat, crystallised fruit, butter caramel and a little liquorice. It grows bolder with salt and tar, then turns heavy with salty liquorice. The finish is rather long, mostly dried plums and salt.
