This is a 12 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks, which brings together Bowmore's smokiness and the fruit of sherry maturation.
The nose offers vanilla caramel, red berries, marzipan and a little dried fruit. On the palate there are ripe pears, lemon juice, cinnamon, toasted almonds and peaches in syrup, with soft smoke alongside. The finish is long, with sweet spice and a pleasant warmth.
