Bowmore 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Casks is an Islay single malt matured in Oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks, and finished in Oloroso sherry wood. Bowmore is the oldest distillery on Islay.
The nose combines vanilla and caramel with red berries, marzipan and a touch of dried fruit. The palate shows ripe pears and lemon juice, toasted almonds with cinnamon, and peach syrup, with the smoke building as it goes. The finish is long and gently spiced.
