Bowmore 12 Years Old is an Islay single malt from the Bowmore distillery, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It spends twelve years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and European sherry casks.
Peat smoke is present but does not dominate. It sits with lemon, honey, vanilla and a light maritime influence.
The nose offers fresh lemon, honey, ripe peach and vanilla with light peat smoke and a hint of sea air. On the palate come honey, caramel and citrus, with soft peat smoke, a touch of dark chocolate and some saltiness. The finish is long, with citrus, gentle smoke and wood spice.
