This is a 15 year old Bowmore from 1999, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range at 48.4% abv.
It is white wine in colour. The nose brings brine, riesling, almond oil, Harris tweed and a pleasant fireplace. On the palate there are liquorice, bitter almonds, toasted brioche, lemon sherbet, kippers, herrings and oysters. The finish is rather long, briny, ashy, smoky and lemony, with marzipan in the aftertaste.
