This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, a distillery on Loch Indaal that has been making whisky since 1779. The malt is turned by hand and dried over peat fires.
The bottling marries whiskies from ex-bourbon casks of American oak with others from Oloroso sherry casks of European oak. It is bottled at 43% vol.
In the glass, expect vanilla, candied orange and roasted walnuts, with a light woody smoke like a glowing fire that leaves the fruit clear.
