Bowmore 15 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 43%. It was matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, and spent its final three years in Oloroso sherry casks.
That time in sherry wood gives the whisky a deep, dark colour, along with raisin and dark chocolate that sit alongside the smoke Bowmore is known for.
The nose is dark chocolate with raisin aromas. The palate follows with dark chocolate and raisins balanced by smoke. The finish brings cedar wood, caramel and spice, with sherry and barley coming together.
