Bowmore – 15 Year Old Mariner 1990s (75cl, 43%)

Bowmore 15 Year Old Mariner is an Islay single malt in a 75cl bottle, bottled by the distillery at 43% ABV. This screen-printed edition is an early release from the mid 1990s, made shortly after the expression first appeared. Mariner was introduced to help meet demand for Bowmore's 17 Year Old during the 1990s whisky boom. It was matured mainly in American oak ex-bourbon casks, with a small share of sherry casks, and the bottle carries a nautical design. It is described as a lighter, more maritime style of Islay malt, with gentle peat smoke, citrus fruit, vanilla, honey and coastal salinity in balance.
