A 15 year old single malt from Bowmore, the Islay distillery founded in 1779, bottled at 43% ABV. The last three years of maturation are in Oloroso sherry casks. It carried the name Darkest until the 2017 label redesign.
The nose is maritime, with sea spray, seaweed, dark chocolate, bacon-wrapped dates and sun-dried red fruit. The palate is lightly creamy with syrup, caramel, raisins and cedar, and the finish is soft, with sherry tannins, campfire embers and smoked bacon.
