This is a 19 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, released as a limited edition. It matured first in ex-bourbon casks and was then finished in Pinot Noir wine casks from Burgundy in France.
Bottled at 43%, it pairs the distillery's maritime and lightly smoky character with fruity, wine-led notes.
On the nose and palate there are ripe apples, honey, red berries and a restrained spiciness, alongside gentle peat smoke and a fine mineral structure.
