Bowmore – 1997 21 Year Old Xtra Old Particular (Cask 12812) (52%)

This is a 21 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled independently by Douglas Laing in its Xtra Old Particular range. It was distilled in July 1997, matured in a single refill hogshead and bottled in August 2018 at a natural cask strength of 52%. All 323 bottles come from cask 12812. Each bottle is hand-filled and comes in a glass-stopper decanter with a wooden presentation case. The nose offers brown sugar, sea salt, caramel, black pepper and gentle smoke. On the palate there is freshly baked brioche, orange peel, rich malt, honeycomb and earthy peat.
