Bowmore 25 Year Old is an Islay single malt from a distillery known for its peated whiskies. It has had a long maturation in oak casks.
Peat smoke is present but subtle. The nose brings ripe fig, date and plum with honey, caramel, dark chocolate, cinnamon and nutmeg, along with a light marine note of seaweed and salt.
On the palate it is soft and silky, with candied fruit, sherry notes, dark chocolate, coffee and a little wood. The finish is long and warm, with fruit and spice returning and sherry and oak lingering.
