This is a 27 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2024 by Blackadder as Raw Cask Statement Edition No. 61. It comes from a single hogshead and is bottled at 42.6% in a 70cl bottle, with 96 bottles produced.
The palate shows gentle bonfire and peat embers on a salty, coastal backbone, with citrus, soft tropical fruit, sweet malt and light floral notes. Vanilla, polished oak and a little spice from the hogshead round it out, with the smoke sitting within the fruit and oak.
