This is the 2021 edition of Bowmore 30 Year Old, an official distillery bottling of Islay single malt at 45.1% in a 70cl bottle. The edition runs to 2,976 bottles.
The whisky matured for 30 years in sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels. Its peat smoke is well integrated with dark fruits, cocoa, oud wood and maritime notes.
The nose brings raisins, orange peel, leather and soft smoke. On the palate there are sherry influences, spices, toasted wood and a salty undertone. The finish is long and warm, with smoke and sweetness in balance.
