This is a 9 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. It is matured for at least nine years in a mix of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak Oloroso sherry casks.
Soft peat smoke sits alongside fruit, sweet sherry and a light maritime influence.
The nose is sweet apple and dried fruit, with blackcurrant, cocoa and a hint of peat smoke. On the palate come raisins, sweet spice and oak, with gentle smoke and a touch of sea salt. The finish is long and warming, with lingering soft peat, fruity sweetness and a subtle spiciness.
