Bowmore Aston Martin Masters' Selection 22 Year Old is Edition 3 of a collaboration between Bowmore and Aston Martin. It was created by Bowmore's master blender, Ron Welsh, with Aston Martin's Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman. The spirit was distilled in 1997 and 2000, then matured in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads and European oak Oloroso sherry butts. It is bottled at 51%.
The nose has citrus and poached peaches with vanilla, dark syrup, salted toffee and old oak. On the palate come cocoa, raisins, muscovado sugar and red berries, with aromatic peat smoke. The finish is long and sweet, with oak spice and a touch of sea salt.
