Bowmore – Claret is a single malt whisky from Bowmore (Islay). Bottled at 56% ABV, 75cl. Matured in bordeaux wine casks. Claret has become a sought-after old expression from Bowmore, finished in Bordeaux wine casks from wineries owned by Suntory and released in 1999. The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779. Today it is part of the Suntory Group, having been acquired by the Japanese company in 1994. Under their ownership is has been nurtured into one of the most collectable names in Scotch whisky.
