Bowmore Dawn is an Islay single malt from the Bowmore distillery, finished in port casks and bottled in 2005 at 51.5% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The port finish adds red fruit to the peat smoke and coastal character of the distillery. The nose combines ripe red berries, plums and dried fruit with dark chocolate, citrus and warm spice, with soft peat smoke and malt behind them.
The palate is full and powerful, with dark fruit, sweet berries and spicy oak, balanced by citrus and a light saltiness. The finish is long and warming, with red fruit, dark chocolate and spice.
