Bowmore Dusk is an Islay single malt from the Bowmore distillery, bottled in 2006 at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Dusk, Dawn and Darkest series, which sets Bowmore's peat smoke alongside the influence of wine and port casks.
This edition draws on Bordeaux wine casks, also called claret casks, which add red fruit and floral character to the smoke.
The nose brings dark fruit, red berries, violets, leather and tobacco, with campfire smoke behind. The palate has dried fruit, red berries and citrus with warm baking spice, and the finish is long and peppery, with violets and dark fruit.
