This is a 28 year old single malt from Braes of Glenlivet, now shortened to Braeval. It was distilled in Speyside in 1994 and matured in a refill bourbon barrel.
Independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh released it at 53.8% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour and no chill-filtration.
The nose is fresh and citrussy, with smooth vanilla, nutty marzipan and soft coconut that builds with time. The palate is honeyed and round, with fudge, almond and milk chocolate, gentle cinnamon spice and an earthy dustiness. The finish is medium to long, with more drying spices.
