Refill American oak hogshead
A 47-year-old Speyside single malt from Braes of Glenlivet, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Private Collection Series 1. It was matured in a single refill American oak hogshead, and 120 bottles were produced at 45.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Private Collection bottlings are chosen personally by members of the Urquhart family, who have owned Gordon & MacPhail for four generations. The nose offers heather honey, ripe tropical fruit and a hint of lime blossom. The palate is smooth, with cracked pepper, apricot conserve and white peach, followed by bright citrus and aged oak. The finish is full-bodied, with lingering exotic fruit and a faint note of aged leather.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
