This is a 34-year-old single cask Braeval from Speyside, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2024 by Precious Liquors for its DNC series. It comes in a 20cl bottle at a cask strength of 51.1% ABV.
The whisky matured in a hogshead, number 2, which gave 75 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose shows stone fruits such as mirabelle and apricot, with white tea, subtle smoke and a hint of wax. The creamy palate brings yellow mirabelle, white grape, green jasmine tea and iris blossom, with a smoky note that is not peat. The finish is long, floral and tea-like, with dried fruit and a light mineral edge.
