Breckenridge Buddy Pass Imperial Stout Cask Whiskey comes from a barrel exchange between Breckenridge Brewery and Breckenridge Distillery.
The brewery made an Imperial Oatmeal Stout, a tribute to the first beer brewed at its original site, and aged it in Breckenridge Distillery bourbon barrels. Once the beer was taken out, the emptied barrels went back to the distillery and were refilled with whiskey, which aged in them for a further 10 to 13 months.
