Brother Justus Cold Peated is an American single malt from Minneapolis, Minnesota, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made from 100% Minnesota malted barley.
Brother Justus Whiskey Company uses its patent-pending Aitkin County Process to bring in the character of Minnesota peat without burning it. Rather than smoke from kiln-drying over a peat fire, the method keeps the botanical, mineral and earthy qualities of raw peat.
The nose offers raw peat, pine tar, witch hazel and herbs, with lemon and grapefruit behind. The palate moves from lemon candy and sweetened mint tea to maple, caramel, dark chocolate, mushroom and baking spices. The finish is long and earthy.
