Brother Justus Single Malt is an American single malt made from 100% malted barley at the Brother Justus Whiskey Company in Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
Mashing, fermentation, distillation and maturation all happen on one site. The spirit ages in barrels made from Minnesota White Oak, which the distillery calls the world's coldest oak.
Oak and caramel lead the nose, with butterscotch, roasted peach and a thread of barbecue smoke. On the palate vanilla builds towards butterscotch and toasted oak, alongside green apple, hazelnut, raisin and banana. The finish is medium-long and drying, with cocoa powder, baking spice and oak tannin.
