A 2021 Saint-Joseph from Maison Brotte, made from Syrah in the northern Rhône. The grapes are destemmed and given a cold, gentle maceration, then fermented at 26-28°C for about 15 days with daily pumping over.
The wine goes through malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and then rests six months in oak.
It is dark red with a slightly raspberry-coloured rim. The nose is intense, with black fruit, pepper and toasted, almost caramelised notes. The palate is full and elegant, with well-integrated tannins, raspberry and blackcurrant and a light spiciness.
