Buffalo Trace is a straight bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, which is owned by the Sazerac Company. It is made from a low-rye mash bill and aged in new, deeply charred oak barrels, and it is bottled at 45%.
The nose brings sweet vanilla, mint and molasses, with brown sugar, candied fruit and oak spice underneath. The palate is full and viscous, with dark caramel, toasted oak, toffee and ripe dark berries, balanced by cinnamon and white pepper.
The finish is long, warm and dry, with sweet oak, vanilla and gentle baking spices.
