Buffalo Trace – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 40%)

Buffalo Trace is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled from maize, rye and malt and matured for 8 to 12 years in new oak casks. A selection of at least 30 casks is combined into each batch. The name refers to an old buffalo trail that once crossed the distillery grounds on the Kentucky River. The nose is intense with vanilla, spicy oak and a hint of mint. The palate is spicy and sweet, with vanilla, red berries, sweet caramel and oak. The finish is long and spicy, growing sweeter towards the end.
