Buzzard's Roost Toasted Barrel Rye is a Kentucky rye whisky bottled at 52.5% ABV, or 105 proof, in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whisky is aged for three years.
Its distinguishing feature is the finish in proprietary toasted barrels. The toasting caramelises the sugars in the wood, giving a rich, rounded profile without the traditional charring.
