This is an independently bottled Speyside single malt from Glentauchers Distillery, released by William Cadenhead at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for 14 years in a combination of Sherry and Bourbon casks, and the Sherry adds richness and depth.
Ripe orchard fruit sits alongside creamy vanilla, chocolate and warming baking spices. The nose offers pear drops, peaches and treacle with nutmeg. On the palate there are pears poached in red wine, gentle tannins and vanilla ice cream with milk chocolate flakes. The finish is rich and warming, with orange, cloves, mulled-wine character and dark chocolate.
