This is a Glentauchers single malt from Speyside, distilled on 11 March 1981 and bottled at 25 years old as part of the First Cask Series. It has a gold colour and is bottled at 46% abv.
The nose brings phenols, oils, tobacco, camphor, pine sap, wood polish and beeswax. With water it turns mineral and phenolic, with a little creosote. On the palate come ripe cranberries, liquorice, overripe apples, corn syrup, ginger and cardamom, while water adds crystallised lemon, citron, angelica and green tea. The finish is very long, with lively spice.
