Cambus – 25 Year Old Stardom Simply Whisky (70cl, 50%)

Stardom is a single cask single grain whisky from Cambus, a closed distillery, bottled by independent bottler Simply Whisky in a 70cl bottle. It spent 25 years maturing in an ex-sherry butt and is bottled at a cask strength of 50%, non-chill-filtered. The nose offers rose petals, soft creamy butter, sugar, peaches and lemon meringue, with some oiliness over a candy sweetness and vanilla. The palate is creamy and vibrant, with a sweetness typical of Scottish grain. The finish brings spice, pickle, more butter and a little peppermint.
