This is a 34 year old single grain Scotch whisky from Cambus, a Lowland distillery founded in 1806 near Alloa. Cambus was a founding member of the Distillers Company Limited, now known as Diageo.
The whisky matured in a refill barrel and was then finished in a rum barrel.
The nose is a vibrant fruit salad with brown butter cookies, maple pancakes and candied nuts, moving to waxed citrus and polished oak. The palate is zesty and sweet, with waffles, honeyed melon and lychee, followed by buttery fudge and drying spices.
