This is a 31-year-old single grain whisky from Cambus, a Lowland grain distillery that closed in 1993. It was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2023 by Elixir Distillers at 46.2% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour, in a 70cl bottle. It matured in refill American oak bourbon barrels.
It is Act One of Elixir Distillers' Macbeth Series, inspired by Shakespeare's tragedy, and represents the First Ghost. The edition is limited to 650 bottles.
The nose offers fresh green fruit, lemon and lime, with vanilla and a hint of tea leaves. The palate is lightly coconutty with vanilla, sunflower oil and a delicate herbal note. The finish is medium in length, with coconut water, vanilla and fresh oak.
