Caperdonich 18 Year Old is a small batch bottling of peated Speyside malt, drawn from old stocks of a distillery that was demolished in 2010. It was matured in first-fill American oak casks and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings the embers of a dying barbecue and plenty of peat, with fruit and blood orange. Peat is strong on the palate, alongside apple, pear and cane sugar. The finish is long and smoky, giving way to a fine sweetness.
