This is a 21 year old Caperdonich from Speyside, bottled by Whisky Sponge as Edition No.43. The whisky is from the 2000 vintage and matured fully in a single refill hogshead, then bottled at 55% in a 70cl bottle.
Caperdonich was formerly Glen Grant's second site.
The nose brings apricots cooked in butter, overripe cantaloupe, glace cherries and honeycomb. The palate is fatty, with mint cream, dark honey and coconut shavings, and the finish is long, with coconut oil and minty oak.
