Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva is a Brandy de Jerez from Sánchez Romate in Jerez de la Frontera, bottled at 40% ABV. The family began making brandy in 1887, first for private consumption, and later sold it under the name of Don Pedro González de Mendoza.
It is distilled from selected holandas and aged in a solera and criaderas system for an average of 15 years, in casks seasoned with Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry.
The colour is a dark mahogany with copper glints. The nose is clean, elegant and rounded, with hints of the sherry casks. The palate is balanced, warming and smooth, vinous, with raisins and plums, and the finish is very long.
