Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth

Carpano Antica Formula is a sweet red vermouth from Italy, made from a recipe dating back to 1786. It is built on white wine infused with herbs, spices and vanilla, and has a deep amber colour and a full-bodied texture. It balances sweetness with bitterness, which is why it is used in classic cocktails such as the Manhattan, Negroni and Boulevardier. It can also be served over ice with an orange twist as an aperitif. On the nose there is vanilla, dried fruit, warm spices and herbs. The palate brings caramel, cocoa, orange peel, raisins and bittersweet herbs, leading to a long, smooth, slightly bitter finish with vanilla and spice.
