Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth 37.5cl (37.5cl, 16.5%)

This is a sweet vermouth from Carpano, in a 37.5cl half bottle at 16.5% vol. It follows a recipe created in Turin in 1786. The base is white wine, fortified and infused with a blend of botanicals, herbs and spices. These include Mediterranean herbs, citrus peels, bitter roots and natural vanilla. It is then aged, often in oak casks, to bring the flavours together. The nose is intense, with cherry, raisin, dried orange peel, vanilla bean and warm baking spices. Beneath sit wormwood, gentian and Mediterranean herbs, with hints of caramel and cedar. The palate is full and lush, with dried fig.
