Carpano Antica Formula is a sweet Italian vermouth from Turin, here in a 37.5cl half-bottle. It is made on a Moscato base with a herbal infusion, at 16.5% ABV.
The nose is vanilla, dried fig, saffron and bitter orange peel. On the palate come caramel, raisin and baking spice, with the bitterness of gentian root.
The finish is long and bittersweet, with cocoa and dried herbs. It suits a Negroni, Manhattan or Boulevardier, or simply served over ice with an orange twist.
