Carstairs White Seal American Blended Whiskey (43%)

Carstairs White Seal is an American blended whiskey in an imperial quart bottle, bottled at 43%. It combines bourbons, grain whiskeys and neutral spirits, and is known for its white seal mascot. Carstairs began in nineteenth-century Philadelphia as a rye, then returned after Prohibition as a blend aimed at a wide audience. It was popular from the 1940s to the 1970s and became a staple in American bars. The nose is sharp with ethanol, with light caramel and vanilla, corn and wheat sweetness and a faint herbal edge. The palate is bold, with sweet corn, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is short to medium and spicy.
