This Glenburgie is a 50 year old single cask Scotch malt from Brave New Spirits, released in the Cask Masters Rare & Exclusive range. It was matured in a single American oak hogshead and bottled at 40.5% in a 70cl bottle, from 108 bottles, without chill-filtering or artificial colour.
The colour is burnt umber and honey. The nose opens with old leather furniture and a faint dustiness, then tobacco and black and herbal teas, deepening to honey apples and cinnamon. On the palate, oak tannins part for softened citrus and a lingering dryness, and the finish is soft, elegant and long.
